Club members Leo Versteegh, Steve Eaton, Arnold Bogusz and Barry Martin are currently (June 2023) at the Gold Coast in Queensland competing in the 2023 Australian Open competition along with almost 3500 other competitors.
It’s competitions like this that gives club bowlers a chance to mix it with the big names in lawn bowls and gain good, useful bowling experience.
Even local weekly competitions at Pt Elliot, Goolwa, Clarendon and Mt Barker over the winter months helps to hone bowlers skills for the upcoming 23/2024 season

Leonie Philips also entered in a mixed 4’s team from SA. Had a very good result in the first round of the Womens 4’s, and progressed through to the knockouts, where they had 2 out of 3 wins…the last game started (can you believe it?) at 5.30pm in the last throws of sunset before the lights ‘kicked-in’! Cold and semi dark, the women were beaten by a very strong Queensland team….well done Leonie
